Global Warming Hoax?

Why do some scientists question global warming?

Scientists question global warming! It is their job to do so.

As well as experimentation and investigation, science also includes debate and argument. By their very nature, scientists will always question everything. It is only by questioning and probing that the human race can learn and so scientists will work together to improve their own understanding.

Many scientists will present papers on their particular area of research and these will then be debated. Many of these papers are only stepping stones on the way to further knowledge, the debate and argument between scientists refine the ideas and the concepts for future research.

Many scientists have carried out research into various aspects of climate change that question the whole concept of global warming, or more often on whether global warming is man made or simply another natural climate cycle. This research is then debated and the facts established through the research can be used by other scientists in their modelling.

Unfortunately, these papers are often picked up by the media and cited as ‘proof’ of a global warming hoax, rather than an additional and important piece of research that improves our understanding on a specific area of the climate model.

It is true that some scientists dispute whether or not the current global warming trend is man made. Carbon dioxide is a natural gas, and nature generates a lot of carbon dioxide by itself. Every time we breathe we create carbon dioxide. Dying vegetation also produces large quantities of carbon dioxide.

In the past, this level of carbon dioxide has be absorbed by nature – mainly with growing vegetation and large water masses.

The problem is now that nature is not absorbing as much carbon dioxide as is being produced. There is a lot of research being carried out to investigate whether the rise in carbon dioxide levels is not so much to do with human intervention, but rather to do with water mass no longer absorbing carbon dioxide in the same volumes as it has done in the past.

It is true that as temperatures rise, water releases the carbon dioxide back into the atmosphere: the bubbles from a kettle of boiling water are produced by the carbon dioxide being released from the water.

However, there is no escaping the fact that over the past 100 years, the human race has been responsible for dramatically increasing the amount of carbon dioxide being pumped into the atmosphere.

Whether the root cause of the problem is man made or natural, there is no doubt that carbon dioxide levels do need to be brought under control. The best way of doing this is to dramatically reduce the amount of carbon dioxide that we release into the atmosphere.

Scientists question global warming - will continue into the future, giving us further answers and information into global warming and climate change.
