Micro generation use
Micro generation use refers to the ways in which small scale power production is used. It is typically power that is generated close to where it is consumed, as opposed to large scale power production, where huge amounts of power is generated by a power station and then distributed around a large area through cables and pipes.
Examples of micro generation would include:
Using Solar Panels to provide hot water for a house
Providing electrical power for a boat using a mini-wind turbine
Providing lighting to a remote building using Solar PV panels
Heating a greenhouse by storing the hot air generated during the day underground and releasing it back into the greenhouse at night.
Supplementing the heating of a home by extracting the heat from the ground
Creating a solar hot water system for summer camping and caravanning
Generating electricity using a fast-flowing stream
Providing heating, cooking and hot water with a solid-fuel stove.
