Energy Efficient Appliance

An energy efficient appliance can help save both energy and water therefore making them cheaper to run.

Although some of the appliances may be more expensive to purchase, they can pay for themselves over a short period of time.

So whether you are looking to replace your washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge, freezer or any other appliance look for an energy efficient one.

How do I choose my new appliance?

Energy Efficient Label

A guarantee that an appliance is energy efficient is to look for the Energy Saving Recommended logo.

All appliances have an energy rating label on them, the highest is A and the lowest is a G rating. Some appliances will also inform you of the energy consumption - how much energy is used.

If you are looking for a new washing machine, the label will also states washing performance, spin drying performance and drying performance.

If you are looking for a new fridge the most energy efficient rating is A++.

See Green Energy Efficient Homes for information on appliance efficiency labels in the US and Canada.
